consultations
Veterinary consultations at home offer several significant benefits compared to visiting a traditional veterinary practice:
Reduced Stress for Your Pet: Being in a familiar environment helps minimize anxiety and fear, making the examination process smoother and more comfortable.
Convenience: Home visits save you time and effort, eliminating the need to travel and wait in busy clinics.
Personalized Attention: The vet can observe your pet in their natural surroundings, providing insights into their behavior and living conditions that might affect their health.
Better for Elderly or Disabled Pets: Pets with mobility issues or chronic conditions benefit greatly from receiving care in the comfort of their home.
Flexible Scheduling: Home consultations often offer more flexible appointment times to fit your busy lifestyle.
Enhanced Owner-Vet Communication: With a one-on-one setting, there is more opportunity to discuss your concerns in detail and receive tailored advice.
Please feel free to get in touch to book a consultation if you have any concerns or questions about your pet’s health and well-being. Whether you simply want an expert to provide your pet with a thorough general health check or you are worried that your pet may be unwell and need professional advice, we are here to help.
The base price of a consultation is £65.
Cat Appointments
Cats must be confined to a single room with minimal hiding places before our arrival. If we are unable to safely catch and restrain your cat within 10 minutes of arriving, we may carry out a visual or hands-off examination where appropriate. If this is not possible, the appointment may need to be rescheduled at your expense.
For particularly nervous or reactive cats, we may prescribe calming medication for use prior to future appointments. In some cases, if your cat’s behaviour is not suitable for a safe home visit, we may recommend that you attend a bricks-and-mortar practice where sedation can be administered if required.
Dog Appointments
Dogs must be appropriately restrained with a collar and lead during the appointment. If your dog is nervous, fearful, or has shown signs of aggression, please contact us prior to booking so that we can discuss the safest approach.
For safety reasons, we expect owners to be able to muzzle their dogs if requested, especially in cases where aggression is a known issue.
